About CAYSTON® (aztreonam for inhalation solution)

CAYSTON is a prescription inhaled antibiotic used to improve breathing symptoms in people with cystic fibrosis (CF) who have a lung infection due to Pa.
CAYSTON is delivered directly into the lungs and fights Pa in the airways. CAYSTON decreases the number of Pa bacteria living in the lungs and may help improve breathing symptoms like coughing, wheezing, and mucus production. In other words, CAYSTON may help you breathe better.8

If you've been prescribed CAYSTON to treat a Pa infection, it is common to feel better early in the course of treatment. However, don't skip a dose or end treatment early.

It's important to take your medication exactly as directed by your doctor. Skipping doses or not completing the full course of treatment may:

  • Decrease the effectiveness of the treatment
  • Increase the likelihood that bacteria will develop resistance and will not be treated by CAYSTON or other antibacterial drugs in the future
